The Week In Videos (06/02 – 06/08)

I do not love. – Lost / Emily Reo – Rainbow Road

You might have noticed that we skipped this column last week (and here’s the reason). That’s why we’re gonna start this post with a couple of videos that would have been part of that “missing one”. First one comes from Massachusetts artist and Beko Disques signee I do not love. and involves a gritty, ultra-dark exploration of the human body, while the other sees Emily Reo reimagining Katy Perry’s California Gurls universe from a bedroomesque point of view and looking radiantly cute.

1987 – Michelle

Moving to these week’s best music videos, here’s the new one by 1987 (the side-project of Stockholm producer Victor Holmberg). It’s directed by Marcus Söderlund (who worked with the likes of Air France, The Embassy and ceo) and sees a younger Sharon Van Etten-via-Arya Stark doppelganger setting a horse free. It’s a simple thing, but with loads of poetry.

How To Dress Well – Face Again

I always sold Tom Krell as some kind of Jesus to everyone who asked me for great music advices, and the video for Face Again confirms, as he plays the role of a “benevolent shaman”. It’s the second chapter of the Johannes Greve Muskat-directed trilogy that preludes the release of the artist’s new album, What Is This Heart? (due out June 24 via Weird World). Learn more about it over at Dazed.
