The Week In Videos (03/28 – 05/04)

Wye Oak – Glory

Lots of great music videos have been released this week, but we succeeded once again in picking just five of them for our weekly roundup. The first of our selection is probably also the best, certainly our favourite. Looking at David Lynch here and there, directors Michael Patrick O’Leary and Ashley North Compton provided a legendary editing idea for Wye Oak’s new video, which focuses on oblique, unsettling imagery and results as a hard one to decipher. The candy-coated anxieties of youth shine through it all.

Only Real – Cadillac Girl

The series of thunderstorms, hailstorm and air horns that we suffered in the last few days here in Italy is, apparently, about to end. Can’t wait to feel like Only Real in his latest music vid.

Iamamiwhoami – Vista

The ice queen and her always stunning imaginary. This time with that kind of aliens you might have met at NHL hockey games.

Maria Minerva – Galaxy

We don’t exactly know why, but we feel that every fan of Fringe will love the Marko Krunic-directed video for Galaxy, one of the highlights from Maria Minerva’s Histrionic (which is out this week on Not Not Fun).

Swim Good – Upgrade

While his latest music video reminds you to do your Sunday laundry, more awesome things from Canadian electronic producer Swim Good are coming your way. Stay tuned.
