The Week In Videos (02/03 – 02/09)

His Clancyness – Miss Out These Days

Given that the Giulia Mazza-directed video for Safe Around The Edges was our favourite of 2013 (alongside with the one for A Feeling Like This by Blouse), we’re not surprised to find ourselves amazed also by the brand new clip for another highlight from the splendid Vicious LP. Directed by cartoonist Anna Deflorian, it’s basically the animated transposition of her debut coming book Roghi and it fits the song and general Jonathan Clancy’s projects aesthetic incredibly well. Highly recommented.

Alpaca Sports – Just Like Johnny Marr

You might have noticed that we like Alpaca Sports. We like Japan too.

Tomas Barfod – Pulsing (feat. Nina K)

Odd but magnetic, as Stereogum perfectly pointed out.

Angel Olsen – Hi-Five

The Zia Anger-directed videoclip for Angel Olsen’s Hi-Five (taken from the upcoming, stellar Burn Your Fire For No Witness) proves that the Chicago-based songstress possesses not only the most expressive voice of our times, but also a powerful body language. We absolutely love her.

Jorge Elbrose (Ariel Pink + Jorge Elbrecht) – Called to Ring

When we saw this video for the first time, we felt the urge to get back to The Darkness‘s albums from when we were very young. It was awesome.
