Vancouver Sleep Clinic – Killing Me To Love You / Lung
Vancouver Sleep Clinic‘s debut EP Winter has been one of our favourite two years ago and we’re sincerely pleased to say that we’ve been there since the beginning of this fantastic journey. Aussie 18-year-old singer/songwriter and producer Tim Bettinson is the incarnation of the word “wonderkid”, having amassed millions of plays & praises for his first songs. Two years later, he’s finally back with new music that was written during a trip to Cambodia and Philippines, where Bettinson found a different perspective on life, which helped him to create these haunting new track which, Bettinson says, “follow the journey of finding my place in the world and finding my feet in what I was doing.”
For the new record, the Australian musician has teamed up with LA producer Al Shux (Jay Z, Lana, Alicia Keys and Lianne La Havas) and now we can finally hear something from that session. Vancouver Sleep Clinic has released two tracks so far, Lung and Killing Me To Love You and honestly, I find it hard to find the words to describe such beauty. Given that Bettinson’s falsetto is still absolutely lit , while Killing Me To Love You unravels around a faster pace marked by neo soul-tainted electronic percussions, Lung sounds like more the musical baby of Sigur Rós and Bon Iver. But these are just words. Don’t waste any more time and listen to both of the tracks below.
