Two People – Fading
Something great is happening to Melbourne in these days: the scene is rising and there are plenty of new bands that are releasing good music. Today we must mention a new duo called Two People composed by Phoebe Lou and Joey Clough, previously part of the soulful dream-pop quintet Snakadaktal. Their debut single Fading – premiered by the guys over at The Line Of Best Fit – sounds like a fresh version of Daughter with Phoebe’s charming vocals surfing multi-layered ambient paths made by dreamy synths and percussions. The song is self-produced and the fact that was recorded in a warehouse and in a lounge-room gives it a cinematic, airy atmosphere that makes everything even more intriguing.
This is what the duo stated about their music: “We focus on creating something honest, making music we want to hear, music we hear in our heads. It all comes directly from us, every sound, because that is the best way we can tell our stories”.
Fading will be part of the duo’s upcoming debut EP, due out later this year via Liberation Music.
