Sofi Tukker – Matadora
Just as their debut single Drinkee, Sofi Tukker‘s sophomore Matadora is a music interpretation of a poem by the Brazilian poet Chacal. The NYC-based duo built the whole track on a bombastick riff performed on Charango, a traditional Andean string instrument, with the addition of massive doses of throbbing beats and rampant synthesizers. Speaking with the Fader about the track, the duo said: “While we were making it, we envisioned a female matador in an ornate red and gold costume teasing a dangerous bull. We love performing this song because we get to jump around and hit things.”
Both Drinkee and Matadora are taken from Sofi Tukker’s upcoming debut EP, Soft Animals.
