Premiere: Corrina Repp – The Beast Lives in the Same Place

Portland-based singer/multi-instrumentalist Corrina Repp came back from a long hiatus and announces today the release of The Pattern of Electricity, her first solo work in almost ten years. After Tu Fawning’s disbanding in 2012, Repp moved in a small flat in Portland and locked up all her music equipment into a closet, where it remained confined until January 2014, when Corrina felt the urgency to get back to writing again.
Composing while working at a restaurant and a plant nursery, Corrina laid the foundation for the new album, which was recorded in late 2014 by long-time friend Peter Broderick at his own studio.

Today we’re glad to introduce you to The Beast Lives in the Same Place, the first track to be taken from Corrina Repp’s new record. The Pattern of Electricity is out on May 19th on CD and limited edition LP on Discolexique in Europe (and on Mark Kozelek’s Caldo Verde in the US). Listen below.
