Odina – Broken
We introduced Odina a couple of weeks ago, by including her single You Loved Me, You Killed Me in one of our latest Going Inbox playlist. The London-based, Barcelona-native singer/songwriter is about to release her debut EP Broken, a collection of intimate songs conceived in her bedroom and inspired by some recent events that occurred in the young artist’s life: the breaking of a relationship, during which she experienced a moment of emotional vulnerability, and the relocation to the rainy London from the sunny Barcelona.
Today we’re lucky enough to hear the title track ahead of the EP release this Friday. Built around wrapping synth and the delicate strum of an acoustic guitar, with a hint of stuttering, deep percussions, Broken channels the melancholy and the struggle of a damaged soul who, however, is trying to fight back. Speaking on the track to us, Odina said: “This song is about having all these thoughts in your head that tell you you’re not good enough, you don’t deserve things, about feeling like damaged goods.”
Odina’s debut EP Broken is out on July 22nd. Pre-order it here.
