ELEL – When She Walks

Nashville alt-folk ensemble ELEL return today with When She Walks, a new track that reveals the band’s aspirations of grandeur. Part San Fermin, part Tame Impala & with a hint of Wilco, ELEL’s latest tune on Mom + Pop (through which they also released their debut album Geode) is a breath of fresh air in the alt-folk contemporary scene.

Speaking on the track, bandleader Ben Elkins said: “The idea behind When She Walks is basically a girl walking through the room, and she’s so pretty that everyone stops what they’re doing. But when I was writing the verses, it became a song more about one person calming another person’s troubled mind. So the song became much more emotionally based eventually. It’s one of our favorites to play live, and I think sums up our energy as a band.”
